AuthorMy name is Haley Tsuneyoshi. I go to Kamehameha Schools and live in Wahiawa, O'ahu. I would like to help the homeless because I see them when I go to school every morning and it's time someone help them. Week 1: This week we focused on making an action plan of how we are going to finish this project. When we were making this we realized that it would be hard for us to meet anywhere but school because we live far away from each other. Karli lives in Kane'ohe and I live in Wahiawa so it's important that we used or class time wisely. When coming up with our action plan we had our schedules in mind. We both are very busy so we have to space out what we are doing in a timely matter.
Despite the obstacles we are going to try and do our best on this project because we are both pretty passionate about trying to shine a little lit on people's life. Even though it is a small gift I think it will give people a little hope and live more comfortably. Week 2: This week my partner Karli came up with the idea of putting notes of encouragement into the hygiene packs. It is most likely going to be scriptures from the bible. More important than giving someone supplies for comfort is to let them know someone care about them. A lot of times I think people with out a home stop believing they can get out of homelessness, but with these notes we are hoping it gives them an assurance that everything is going to be okay. We are both a little nervous about handing these packets out because we don't know what they are going to say or if they will get offended. We are hoping all goes smoothly and they accept the pack and be happy with what is in it. |
